Kampurapa
I love to walk on my Country looking for bush tucker. I’ve been doing this as long as I can remember. When I was a young girl, my mother and father aunties and uncles taught me about the bush and all its wonderful food. Kaliny-kalinypa is the honey grevillia which you can eat directly off the tree either by sucking the flower or soaking in water to make a honey cordial. After the big rains all the lovely flowers come out; yellow, white, purple and pink. Kampurarpa the desert raisin or bush tomato first has purple flowers then we wait for the fruits to come. Ili is the fig with small red fruits that grow near water holes.
