Pupulirri

This painting is about my father’s country, Pupulirri. He used to take us to this place and
show us around, this is where I grew up along with my brothers and sisters.

Stacia Yvonne was born in the bush at Wankari, a significant place for the Kungkarangkalpa Tjukurpa / Seven Sister story. Stacia paints her Country and significant landmarks, waterholes and associated with  Kungkarangkalpa Tjukurpa. Her paintings relate to two significant cultural sites close to Irrunytju which are sacred and important places for woman’s business and passing on knowledge.
